A few weeks back I participated in the LINE and Giphy.com contest. I got to practice using illustrator and flash and it was fun. Thought I'd share osome of the things I did to help prepare for the contest.
I looked up some emotion chart/challenges on Deviant Art(there's a lot, and unfortunately I can't remember which one I used) to get some ideas started.
Based off the early sketches, I started doodling a character to go with these emotions.
After reading the rules and learning what kind of stickers they were looking for, I started redrawing the doodles to keep them consistent. I chose some of the interesting stickers they were asking for and sketched them out on my tablet.
Finally, I drew over and colored most of these sketches using Adobe Illustrator.
